Age is just a number (I'm 58) and despite the challenges we face and I believe we can make a significant difference in how we look and feel through focused exercise and nutrition!
I have been practicing Pilates for a number of years but since confronting the “surgical menopause” 8 years ago, which literally hit me like a train, I discovered regular 'pilates' practice not only helped with the muscle aches and pains but also helped my running, balance, posture and general well being.
Pilates has also helped my rehabilitation following a broken shoulder in 2017 and a subsequent partial shoulder replacement in October 2023.
I qualifed as a Pilates Instructor in August 2018 and began teaching part-time alongside a full-time job until July 2019 when I was made redundant. Since then my classes have gone from strength to strength and I teach in Kirton,
Felixstowe and Kesgrave.
Since setting up my first classes, I have continued my Pilates education, taking numerous training courses with the APPI - World leading providers of Physiotherapy and Pilates Education – including Small Apparatus, Pilates for Running, Pilates for Cyclists and Pilates for Shoulder Rehab, Osteoporosis, Hypermobility and Pelvic Floor Health.
